How Un-scientific is Scientific American?

To reveal how deluded the alleged professionals in the scientific publishing community can be, a couple of scientists submitted an article about alternative energy that should have been rejected by any elementary school science teacher.  As you will see, that did not happen. In many cases, science has become scientology with people like Tom Cruise bouncing up and down on couches insisting they have credentials to be more than just pretenders.
