SUMMARY:Birds of Prey World Ski Championships
DESCRIPTION:Once again\, we will be meeting local and international ski champions during the annual championship races held at Beaver Creek\, Colorado.  One of the most demanding ski courses in the world\, Birds of Prey\,  has various parts of the course named after certain eagles\, hawks\, owls\, and falcons.  We will be putting  real feathers and flesh to those names as our birds will be part of the opening and awards ceremonies\, as well as featured in the village area for guests to visit with up close.  Raptor Education Foundation has been part of the Birds of Prey races since the course opened in 1997. Our 37 year old golden eagle will once again\, be part of the festivities in the Red-tail Camp.

DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT–On Saturday\, September 22\, the Raptor Education Foundation will present “Hawks”\, a new identification class designed to allow participants to easily distinguish a hawk from other birds\, and from other kinds of raptors. REF’s live raptors will be featured\, coupled with the combined skill and experience of Colorado Parks & Wildlife Raptor Monitor Karen Metz and Anne Price\, REF’s Curator of Raptors. Karen has decades of experience observing wild raptors\, and her exceptional knowledge is backed by carefully-selected slides provided by some of the best raptor photographers in the world. Did you know that we actually have eight different species of hawks here in Colorado? Come learn how to easily ID them\, when each species is here\, and how to tell them from a falcon\, eagle\, etc. \nThe class will be held at our facility in Brighton on Saturday\, September 22 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 Noon with a tour of our exterior mews (raptor housing) to conclude the class. Space is limited to 20 people\, by advance reservation only. \nREFUND Policy-Full refunds up to September 10\, 2018. 50% refunds until September 15th. No refunds after September 15th. Once we receive your payment we will send you a confirmation and further information.
